Kaffir Boy as Summer Reading Material
Many schools assign all of their students, or students of one or two specific grade levels, to read Kaffir Boy over the summer. Because Kaffir Boy contains such an inspiring message about the life-transforming power of education, students arrive at school in the fall eager to learn and to discuss the book they have all just finished reading.
