How To Donate to the
Magdalene Scholarship Fund

By going through Network for Good
To make a donation using the Network for Good payment system, simply click on this button.

By Credit Card
To make a donation to the fund using your credit card, you can do so through Mathabane Book's  secure online payment system. To make a donation, simply click on the "buy me" button of your choice. The person named in the "Ship To" address will receive a thank you letter acknowledging the gift. You may ignore the "shipping options" function, since there is, of course, no shipping charge to make a donation.  Scholarship donations are swept into the Magdalene Scholarship Fund at the end of each business day.

Amount of Donation:
     $25           $35           $50             $75           $100         $200

By Check
To make a donation by mail, or if the amount you want to donate does not appear above, please send a check or money order made out to "The Magdalene Scholarship Fund" to the following address:

The Magdalene Scholarship Fund
1320 NW Frazier Court
Portland, OR  97229

With either method, you will receive a letter acknowledging your contribution.

Types of Donations
Some schools ask if they can donate old textbooks and used equipment to Bovet, but such donations can lead to costly problems. Books and computers are heavy, so shipping costs to South Africa are high. Also, Bovet may be required to pay a significant sum to get overseas boxes out of customs. One time the school had to raise funds to get boxes out of customs, only to realize that they paid far more than the items in the boxes were worth. Equipment that must be plugged in is not useful because electrical outlets are different from those in the U.S. We recommend that you dispose of used books and equipment by selling them in your community and then sending any funds raised as a donation to the scholarship fund.

Refund policy
Due to the fact that donations are transferred internationally via wire transfer to support schoolchildren in South Africa, the Magdalene Scholarship Fund is unable to refund donations.

Thank you for your support.
